The history of Kimberly-Clark in Chicago dates back to the early 1900’s when James Kimberly, the son of one of the founders, opened the first sales office. Today Kimberly-Clark maintains significant Chicago operations from the top floors of the landmark Civic Opera House, hosting worksessions and meetings with top executives, and many of their agency partners. The branding of the office sympathetically preserves the art deco touches present in the building, while celebrating the history of the company in Chicago. Important innovations from Kimberly-Clark are displayed in the form of patent applications adhered to the glass partitions in the space. Additionally, historical artifacts and product samples were documented in high definition by photographer Henry Leutwyler. The photos, printed oversized in rich black and white, are prominently displayed in the space, serving as a connector between the past and the present. Project completed while serving as Global Design Director at Kimberly-Clark. Project Team: Eastlake Studio, architect. Photography: Steve Hall, Hall+Merrick
